Change–Day 1

The NaBloPoMo theme for January is change. I read this on the site after a week of musing on change myself–whether change is about a goal, or whether change is something to be done for its own sake. There’s a Gandhi quote that was posted at the wall of my gym in L.A. “Be the change you want to see in the world.”  That’s been rolling around in my head a bit, too.

Truth be told, I’ve changed a lot in the last year, or two. Change of venue, change of pace, change of career…that’s a lot. Those external shifts are, not easy exactly, but simpler, it seems than the internal shifts I’d like to see in myself. And I’ve been wondering if I focus too much on the goals –lose 20 pounds, become a runner, be a perfect mom (ha) who never yells, never acts out of frustration–rather than the changes that might add up to accomplishing those goals.

I have more to say on this, but am running late–another change I’d like to make would be to be more punctual–so the rest of this will have to come tomorrow.
