I have two “new year” experiences, every single year. The first is now, in frozen January (or rainy January, if you live in Los Angeles, like I did for so long) and the second is in September, when school starts. In some ways, the September beginning feels more ripe with possibility, more tantalizing, while this one often feels like long, hard, work. Maybe that’s because this is the time of year when I think about internal changes (back to that Day 1 topic) as opposed to external changes which are all around in September: leaves turning, a promotion from one grade to the next, the air turning cool and so on.
I guess what I’m mulling right now is: how can you keep change active all year long–continually create that sense of possibility and purpose?
And on another topic, sort of, I’m obsessed, of late, with this and this. Enjoy!
