About me

That's me. And the cat.

That's me. And the cat.

I used to live and work in Hollywood, until we bought the farm. Call it a midlife crisis, call it a return to some fantasy version of my roots, but my family and I left Los Angeles nearly two years ago for fifteen acres in paradise.  Ok, paradise with snow. Still. Even cold, it’s heaven.

I write, cook, attempt to garden, and try hard to be a good wife and mother, while not going nuts in the process.  I keep chickens, who give us beautiful and delicious eggs.  I ride horses, though I don’t (yet) have my own.  I practice yoga and meditation, neither as regularly as I’d like.  I am starting to run again after a few years of sluggishness.  It’s slow, but because of where we live, every workout is a hill workout–so I try not to be too hard on myself about my glacial pace.

I’m learning about life in a small town, and about how living in a beautiful place can change you. I write about those experiences, and more, here.  Thanks for stopping by. I hope you’ll come back.

A bit of water has passed under the bridge. Life has changed beautifully for you and yours and just weeks ago, drastically for me and mine. From time to time, I’ve looked at what you’re doing. BRAVO!!. Now I have time to explore and check out what’s been on my to do list… Your kids are precious, John is every bit the talent I knew he’d be and you have found your true self.
Exciting. Let’s talk. Cynthia

Hi Paige,

I’m Julie, the editor of “Mamapedia Voices”, and we feature guest bloggers on Mamapedia, a site for Moms all across the country. I’ve just found your blog, and would like to invite you write a piece which could be featured on our site.

Though Mamapedia Voices has just started out, it is already receiving a lot of attention, both on our site, on our guest bloggers’ sites, and beyond. We promote our featured guest bloggers through emails, Twitter, Facebook and more. It’s a wonderful opportunity to grow your audience!

If you would like to participate, please take a look at Mamapedia Voices. Next, sign up here http://bit.ly/UTCGU to be on the blogger roster, and then you will be able to see the complete (and easy) instructions for submitting a piece for consideration.

Also, because we like your blog, please download a recognition badge from us- there are many fun designs to choose from here: http://www.mamapedia.com/voices/blogger_badge

Thank you, and I look forward to reading more of your work!

Best wishes,
Julie D’Agostino

tried to reach you via porloff@gmail.com, but it was bounced back. Is there another way to reach you that does not become a public comment on your blog?
